Geography Profile


After two years of having a combined subject, Social Science Students leaving the second can now choose a specific subject; Social Studies, History or Geography.

General Aim of Geography

  • Acquire appropriate skills and techniques used in geography
  • Promote an understanding of the processes at work in natural and human systems 
  • Develop an understanding of the interrelationships between the natural and the human environment 
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the types, functions and growth of the human settlements 
  • Develop an awareness and understanding of factors influencing patterns and changes in economic activity 

Topics discussed in the Third Form; Earth’s Crust, River, Agriculture, Tourism and Mapping Skillsearthcrust

In the Fourth and Fifth Form students follow the syllabus in depth which will prepare them for the final CXC Exam.


Students are Assessed by: Projects pertaining to a particular topic Class discussions or debates Test and quizzes School Based assessments (SBA) in the Fifth Form
