Winners of the Poem Competition |

Student Government had organized a Poem Competition. This was to show the great talents that students have in poetry. Ten poems were entered in the competition. February 12, 2010 at 12:30 was the deadline to give in the poems. Ms. Richardson (moderator), Jarritza Jules-Gaston (secretary), and Jessica Rogers (head girl) judged the poems. In first place, there were three people who worked on a poem together. They were Maxine Andrew (5B), Aisha Hassell (5B), and Vishal Udhwani (5B). Andrei L. Arellano (3A) came in second place. And in 3rd place was Ana da Silva (5A). The winners arrived at room 16 on February 24, 2010 to receive their prizes from the president (Vincent Ramsami) and vice president (Ashley Richardson) of Student Government.

House Competition - Board Games |

Red, Yellow, Green, and Blue House performed in a board games competition which was hosted by Student Government. The games that were included in the competition were chess, checkers, and dominoes. On February 25th, 26th, and March 1st 2010 the board games were played in room 16. It was quite a tough competition between the houses. Everyone tried their best. The moderator (Mr. Bernard) President (Vincent Ramsami), Vice President (Ashley Richardson), Treasurer (Monica Lalwani), Secretary (Jarritza Jules- Gaston), PRO (Soniya Bag), Head Girl (Jessica Rogers), and Head Boy (Christopher Santos) of Student Government helped keep score. Student Government Donates Cheque to the AIDS Foundation |

The St. Maarten AIDS Foundation continuously works with schools and businesses to promote HIV/AIDS awareness and information within our community. To assist with the foundation's efforts, Student Government made a donation of $200.00 to the AIDS Foundation on December 17, 2009. Mr. Bernard (moderator), Vincent Ramsami (President), Ashley Richardson (Vice President), Monica Lalwani (Treasurer) presented the cheque to Mr. Eli Bendaly of Scotia Bank. There goes the bell! Drop that remote for your TV and pick up some books, school is here! Student Government would like to welcome the new students and welcome back the old students to school.
At the beginning of every new school year, Student Government presents the school with a gift/donation. This year we presented the school with several clocksand also a monetary donation towards the purchase of a new water cooler.
We also presented a gift certificate for a weekend spa treatment to Mrs. Sommers for her 15 years of service to St. Dominic High!
